CBS 5 called upon Pinnacle Financial Advisors Founding Partner Lennard van der Feltz to provide insight on the financial impact of Baby Boomers’ widespread transition from owning to renting.
According to U.S. Census data, Baby Boomers are the fastest-growing group of renters, with convenience being a key factor driving the decision to rent. Lennard stated that while it is very common for young people to rent while they are getting settled in their careers, it also makes sense for newly retired people – or people who are preparing for retirement – to rent as they adjust and determine where they want to spend their retirement.
He noted that a financial planner can help people of all ages determine the living situation that works best for their unique goals and financial situation.
