With experience as a business owner and operations consultant, Josh Kosar serves as a Financial Advisor/Relationship Manager at Pinnacle Financial Advisors. He skillfully builds financial plans, maintaining close relationships with each client to ensure their needs are met.
Prior to joining the Pinnacle team, Josh spent four years running successful hardware technology startups. His entrepreneurial prowess helped him win the 2015 UNL Global New Venture Plan Competition, which provided seed funding to launch his first business. He sold that business in 2017.
Josh also worked as a business growth and operations consultant, helping small companies organize their finances, trim excess, and introduce operational efficiencies to drive growth. In this role, he used his deep knowledge of business operations and finance to help a business grow from $6.5 million in revenue to $10 million in just one year.
Josh places great importance in giving back to the community, serving as a member of the alumni panel and as a judge for the Prescott Fellows, a group of high-performing student entrepreneurs selected from Arizona State University’s Edson Student Entrepreneur Initiative and eSeed Challenges. In this program, teams from student-led startups compete for funding to launch their ventures. He also serves as a board member for the Arizona Strategic Innovation Authority, which aims to advance the use of science-backed innovation tools at universities and businesses across the state.
Additionally, Josh is a regular presenter for the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Society of Highway Engineers, inspiring members to think outside the box when laying out plans for the next generation of transportation infrastructure. As a result of his leadership and expertise, Josh was selected to advise Congressman David Schweikert on creative ways to finance new federal infrastructure projects at a Valley Partnership event.
Josh earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Robotics from Arizona State University and a certification in Early Childhood Education from Rio Salado Community College. He holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 Securities licenses, as well as an Arizona Life and Health Insurance license.
When he is not working, Josh enjoys expanding his knowledge of entrepreneurship and robotics, traveling, and taking his sail trike for a spin.
