Bill Kelso takes on key role at Pinnacle Financial Advisors’ Sedona office overseeing new clients, lending support to existing accounts

Pinnacle Financial Advisors is pleased to announce the addition of industry veteran and trailblazer, Wilson (Bill) Kelso to its team.

In his role as financial planner, Kelso will be based out of Pinnacle Financial Advisors’ Sedona office and will be involved in all aspects of client service, especially developing new client relationships for the practice, while also assisting with the management of existing client relationships. While specializing in tax and retirement planning, as well as esoteric income portfolio strategies, he will create, implement and monitor client planning strategies in conjunction with the Pinnacle team.

“Bill is a valuable addition to our entire team of financial planning experts, but especially to our Sedona-based clients,” said Lennard van der Feltz, founding partner of Pinnacle Financial Advisors. “His broad-based career in financial services, along with his forward-thinking nature and client-centric approach blend seamlessly into Pinnacle Financial Advisors’ culture and client service philosophy.”

Kelso joined the Pinnacle Financial Advisors team in conjunction with Seros Financial, an independent financial planning and investment advisory practice in Tempe, after the two like-minded companies formed a working partnership. He was instrumental in leading the financial planning function for many key clients.

A former member of a Big 8 accounting firm and American Express Financial Services, Kelso was also heavily involved in weighing in on fee-based advisory models as part of a national task force at SunAmerica Securities that developed the platform for fee-only advisory services. These experiences led him to start his own practice, Financial Planning Strategies Group, where he quickly realized that smaller, more dynamic companies could be more nimble and thoughtful in serving clients. This has become part of his mantra in serving clients today.

“Sedona is a vibrant community with clients from all walks of life and all levels of experience with financial planning,” said Kelso. “I look forward to sitting down, and getting to know their lives, their values, and their goals as we embark together on their journey to financial independence.”

In addition to being a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and CPA, Kelso holds his FINRA Series 7, 24, 51, 63 and 65 securities licenses, in addition to Arizona life and health insurance license. He earned a Bachelor of Accounting and Business Administration from Adams State University in Alamosa, Colo.

Kelso lives in Sedona with his wife Laurie and their daughter Marley. They can be found hiking and enjoying Sedona’s scenic outdoors.
